Facing challenges with Peter Riedel

Shownotes

Peter Riedel is COO since 2014, but his career at Rohde & Schwarz started way before that. Back then he still was a student and hadn’t heard about the company at all. At least until a classmate suggested joining R&S for an internship. In the beginning, it was never his plan to stay at one company for so long, but as there were always new challenges waiting for him, he never felt the need to change companies.

Even if Peter Riedel now can say that he made the right decisions throughout his career path, there were times when he wasn´t so sure. While he had the chance to shape R&S and its culture over the years, trust was the factor that always mattered most to him. Trust between the company and the employees. And not less important also trust in yourself. He tells us what helped him to get more confident and why he thinks that a little bit of self-doubt can sometimes be useful as well.

Besides that, there are obviously many other skills a leader should have. One is being good at building teams; a skill Peter Riedel is proud of having. You will learn what defines a good team and what a leader needs to be aware of in this episode “Facing challenges with Peter Riedel.

"People behind technology" takes you behind the scenes at Rohde & Schwarz and focuses on the people who drive future-relevant technologies forward. In season three “Be entrepreneurial – Insights from the R&S Management”, our hosts Max and Lorena talk to members of the R&S management about what entrepreneurship means and how everyone can act “entrepreneurial”, a value that has always been part of our DNA as a privately-owned company.
