Founding companies with Sadik Hafizovic

Shownotes

It is about self-fulfillment, having a bigger vision, and starting something with potential – This is how Sadik Hafizovic, CEO & Co-Founder of Zurich Instruments, describes founding a Start-Up.

Throughout his childhood and studies, he gained a lot of international insights. Sadik got to know different cultures but by relocating many times he was also able to rediscover himself. Why was especially his time in Japan so valuable and how did he feel when he returned to Germany? Since then he was always looking for an opportunity to establish a company and in 2008 the moment finally came. He turned an idea into a company with his colleagues Dr. Flavio Heer and Beat Hofstetter. How was the idea born and how can you make potential colleagues believe in your vision?

When the company was founded, they never thought about a company takeover and they had no idea that quantum technology would play such a big role for Zurich Instruments. But today they are an expert in this field and part of the Rohde & Schwarz family. What changed their mind and why especially did they decide to merge with R&S?

In this episode, Sadik gives answers to all of these questions.

"People behind technology" takes you behind the scenes at Rohde & Schwarz and focuses on the people who drive future-relevant technologies forward. In season three “Be entrepreneurial – Insights from the R&S Management”, our hosts Max and Lorena talk to members of the R&S management about what entrepreneurship means and how everyone can act “entrepreneurial”, a value that has always been part of our DNA as a privately-owned company.
